WRITER + DIRECTOR

Davie Paterson is an Australian born writer/director based in Sydney. He started his writing career as a youngster on a writing assignment with mentor John Collee (Happy Feet) for eOne Films Australia and has written on several features and adaptations since, including ARCADIA film 2067 (starring Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ryan Kwanten) and Bronte PicturesTake My Hand (starring Rahda Mitchell). He’s a two-time winner of the UK Film Festival (Script Competition, in 2016 and 2020, respectively), with recent wins at Shore Scripts (Grand Prize Winner) and DIFF, earning him a seat at the 2023 Oscars Gala. He is currently in development on several projects.

He’s also a writer of TVCs, treatments and decks, and brand strategist on large and small scale campaigns for clients including Google, YouTube Australia, Land Rover + Wallabies Rugby, Samsung, Optus + Commonwealth Games, Wotif, Westfield, and others.

He is represented by RGM for film work and he hopes you think someone else wrote this, but they didn’t.
